Journaling Topics!

So I said I was going to do it, and here I am! This is going to be the ongoing list of journaling topics I'll add to as I think of new ones or blatantly rip them off of the interwebs (don't worry, I'll totally credit those I am aware that I'm stealing from). Topics that I am using for The Project will be in bold.

As far as I know right now, these topics will be more for writing entries, but I will definitely add some art journal ideas, too. You can also feel free to change/use/abuse/steal/etc. these topics as you see fit.

-Your worst day
-Your best day
-Things that you are thankful for
-If you were a tree, what kind would you be and why? (yeah, I went there. Also I first heard this in the fifth grade, just for attribution reasons)
-How the weather affects your mood. Why is it like this? Is this for the best?
-Habits you'd like to change
-The masks you wear/the faces you share -- this would make a good art journal entry, BTW (This one I found while searching for topics for myself a little while back, but I can't find the site anymore. If you recognize it, let me know!)
-What is your biggest fear? Is this realistic? Why do you fear this? How much does this interfere with your life and can you/do you want to change this?
-What faults do you have and what is the "bright side" to them (alternatively, how can I foster growth in these areas)?
-What are your strengths? How do you share these with the world?
-If you could go back in time, what mistakes of yours would you not change? How did the outcome to these contribute to who you are?
-What mistakes in your past would you change, and how would these changes have affected your life?
-What unfortunate events in your life have taught you something valuable/made you stronger? How so?
-What are your favorite parts of a rainy day?
-What was the most inspiring book you have ever read? Saddest? Most uplifting? Dumbest? Funniest?
-Write a list of everything you are grateful for (breathable air, the taste of chocolate, family/friends--nothing is too small or too big to include!).
-Write a list of your achievements. Just like the above prompt, no idea is too small or too big--e.g., having learned how to read, having left your house by yourself, having held a conversation with a stranger (remember, there are people out there who simply cannot do these things for one reason or another, so having done them counts as achievements! More on this idea later, though).
-What are your signature strengths? (middle of the page, you have to register, but it's free)
-What is something that you thoroughly enjoy, but tend not to do it? Why don't you? How could you incorporate this thing into your life more often?
-What are things you tend to hate yourself for, but would absolutely forgive a friend for (forgetting things, telling unfunny jokes, spilling something, etc.). Why the unfairness against yourself?
-If you are the type to daydream on purpose ("escapist fantasies"), then take a little while to think about what common themes pop up while you do so. Are you usually a hero? A show-off? A sneak-thief? Then, whenever you're ready, think about what kind of need these fantasies are fulfilling. Do they make you feel competent in a world where you think you are constantly screwing things up? This topic is a little more deep than some, but it is definitely worthwhile!

YOU (yes, you!) are ABSOLUTELY encouraged to post your own stories, comments, suggestions, and kind words to other readers! But please, be nice. This world is already full of enough, shall we say, gruffness. Also, no medical advice should be given or taken here--that's why we go to see doctors. Thanks in advance! <3
